Escapes on the Run

- Escapes on the run is a escape room on wheels. Since they are mobile they can travel anywhere here in central Indiana to meet the needs of corporate events, parties, or festivals.
- The challenge we were given was expanding their business in regards to off-season activities and increasing demographics through marketing and advertising. I was attracted to this challenge because I thought it would be a great opportunity to be able to eventually promote my own ideas I had for them in regards to business/ sales and marketing since that’s my field of interest.
- Tom, Alex, and I began this process during our first meeting with Karen and Rich. We had them introduce their business and also address what they wanted to get out of this partnership with us. We then went through their escape room to get a better understanding of the business and to help us prepare for future brainstorming on our ideas for them. We continued to meet, having them explain all of their wants, and us expressing how we were going to fulfill them. In our final proposal, we presented our four main ideas regarding
2. coming up with more themes for the trailer so that people can experience it more then once, along with in the future creating a second trailer for reasons such as difficulty level, being able to attended to bigger groups of people (which brings in more revenue), and also just making their company look larger
3. invest in hiring people so that there is less stress on their family and more help to better things regarding our ideas
4. creating the table top games to not only engage teamwork, but relate to other aspects when working together, such as: communication and leadership
-we did a lot of research to find the best ideas to include in the table top games to make them fun, challenging, and something incomparable to ideas already used in this industry
- During this whole process Tom, Alex, and I did a really good job at working together and communicating. We didn’t assign each other specific things to do, instead we just worked to all come up with our own ideas and then break them down together at the end to choose the best, most logical ones.
- Positive takeaways from this experience was getting the opportunity to work with Rich and Karen to help better their business. It was a great learning experience and gave me an inside on what its like to run a business, along with all of the challenges that come along with it. When presenting ideas to them we noticed a lot of them they had already thought of. It was a challenge to really think out of the box. In the end we just stressed how our ideas were worth fulfilling and could really contribute to a more successful business.
- If I were to go through this project again I would want to add the idea of Tom, Alex, and I creating our own table top game. I think it would’ve been a good kind of challenge and also something fun to get to try.
